• I have deactivated Twenty Sixteen theme and changed to Elementor and the Hello Theme but in the wordpress page editor the Twenty Sixteen Sections and Tabs are still there. Is it safe to delete the Theme and will that solve the problem?

  • Hey @britto106! If you’ve changed the theme, you should not see anything leftover like this.

Do you have any widget areas in your new theme? It’s possible that it’s just old widgets, which still exist. You can check them under Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.

Hi @properlypurple, Thanks for the reply. But I think you misunderstood the problem, There is nothing wrong on the fron of the website it is in the wordpress page editor. In the dashboard, If I go to “All Pages” and click the edit button for a page, Under the main editor box are all the tabs to edit the different sections in the 2016 Template. You can see the issue in the screenshot below. If the 2016 Template is deactivated I don’t know how or why this is still there or how to get rid of it.

Hey @britto106! Those are not from the 2016 theme, but seem to be from a plugin. I’d recommend deactivating any plugins you have, and activating them one-by-one to figure out the one causing this.

If you can install plugins, install and activate Health Check. It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.

On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.

There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/
