Just discovered the Wordfence plugin was deactivated one week ago. I never did it. Any idea why this might have happened?

  • Hey @janchu4,

Do you have any other users that are able to manage plugins?

It’s possible that an update didn’t complete that resulted in this.

Have you activated it? If so, is it functioning correctly? If it isn’t, I’d suggest resetting it to see if it helps.

Also, if you have access to your PHP error logs you might take a look through them for relevant errors. If you find any, please share them here.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

I have 2 unactive admins (ie. a developer). I checked their logs and neither has been in since December. I think I’ll remove them.

I’m hoping that the plugin simply didn’t complete its update.
I re-activated the plugin and all seems fine. As for the error logs, I don’t know where to look so I’ll contact my host.

Just checked with my host and they said most likely deactivated on its own due to PHP compatibilities. There weren’t any abuse/security issues, so that’s good. Case closed!

    Hey @janchu4,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear it!

There’s nothing wrong with being safer than sorry. If anything else comes up please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
