Deactivated YARPP but it still is Functioning…HELP!

    YARPP was going a little crazy on my site and including some posts I would rather remain hidden, so I decided to deactivate it. After deactivation, YARPP continues to function on my site, so I then deleted it. That didn’t stop it either, so googled around and found out that you have to clear your yarpp database. So I logged into myphpadmin and dropped my yarpp database– even still YARPP continues to function on my site. I am not super techy so I am out of ideas on how to proceed. Posts I would rather remain hidden are still being exposed through YARPP. Could someone please let me know what else I need to do to get rid of YARPP once and for all ?!?

  • If you’ve deleted the yet-another-related-posts-plugin directory from your plugins directory, there’s no way that it is still active. That should be enough.

    If you still see some “related posts”, it most likely is the effect of some aggressive caching plugin continuing to display results from some previous time when YARPP was active. If so, you should be able to clear that cache.

    Michael, thanks for the reply. I think it is the case that I have to clear the cache from when YARRP was functioning. Where would I find that cache? And what would be it’s name? As I mentioned, I already went onto myphpadmin and dropped the YARRP database. I don’t know where else to look. I would appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction.

    No, I don’t mean the cache for YARPP. I mean the cache for whatever caching plugin you’re using. You may want to contact your hosting provider in case they are caching some things for you.

    Turns out it was another plug-in (Shareaholic) that was caching the YARRP. thanks for your help!
