    I’m trying to remove the AddtoAny plugin. I’ve changed the settings so it isn’t showing up on any of my posts, but when I deactivate the plugin, my entire post disappears!

    With the plug-in deactivated, everything between the date/author/leave comment line and “Related Posts” vanishes. There isn’t even any white space left.

    So right now I have the plugin active, but I’m not using it. I’d like to be able to deactivate and delete it.

    My theme is Catch Responsive Pro, running the WP classic editor in Windows 10.

    When I run GT Metrix it tells me

    https://explorationvacation.net/ should inline the following small resources:
    https://explorationvacation.net/wp-content/plugins/add-to-any/addtoany.min.js?ver=1.1

    When I follow that link I get: “function”==typeof jQuery&&jQuery(document).ready(function(a){a(“body”).on(“post-load”,function(){window.a2a&&a2a.init_all()})});

    I am not a developer, so am completely mystified as to how AddtoAny seems to have inserted itself so as to be a necessity for my site to work. Help!!

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    The plugin certainly deactivates and deletes cleanly by default, so you’re probably seeing an older cached version of the site or the site has some other issue. Be sure to clear the site’s cache(s) (including Cloudflare’s caching) after making changes.

    You should reenable the AddToAny Placement options so you can see when your site actually has the plugin deactivated/disabled.

    As for the odd symptom of missing content after the plugin’s deactivation, that’s unlikely to be directly related to the plugin, especially with the plugin deactivated/deleted. An indirect cause on the back-end is possible if you added some errant manual placement code in your theme or similar. If the site’s issue persists after deactivating or deleting the plugin and clearing cache(s), you should post in the Fixing WordPress forum so folks can take a closer look at the front-end to help you troubleshoot. You can also View Source in your browser to see whether the page’s content is actually present in the HTML code, which would indicate it’s a front-end issue with the site.

    Thank you. I had added code way back when to make the buttons show up in a different place, and that was the problem. This is now resolved.
