WordPress tells me to deactivate all plugins before building my multisite connections manually. I am a novice and want to use Bitnami WordPress Multisite installer. I have been through all the WordPress & Bitnami instructions, but nowhere does it answer my question:

When I use Bitnami do I deactivate all my plug-ins first?

Please answer this one question so I can proceed without harming my existing site.

    Thanks.

If you are upgrading an existing site (that is, not a new install) that has it’s own plugins & other settings and possibly posts/content, I would strongly encourage a manual creation of a network. Here are the instructions:

Definitely make backups before you do ANYTHING.

If your site is new, and you have only added a couple of plugins in getting started, you could simply delete them for now, make your upgrade with Bitnami, and then re-add them after you have verified that the multisite network is working.

If you decide to proceed with the Bitnami upgrade with the existing site, definitely deactivate all those plugins!

Thank you for the reply, Bet. I did it manually and everything is working well.
