Deactivator not doing its job properly

Fixed!

I had a set a custom site address to the default one on the general settings of the wordpress admin.
Changing this back to the default (www.mysiteaddress.com/wordpress/) fixed the problem. Just out of interest, say I wanted to keep my original URL setup, is there any way to change to a custom url structure? If it is possible I guess it would involve some changes to the code somewhere. I would ideally like to keep the original structure for security reasons.

Also for future releases, I think it would be very beneficial to have an option to disallow as well as allow. Say for example I want to exclude the nextgen scripts on just one page or post. I know that this seems kind of counterproductive but in my case it was just one page which included a plugin that was not working if the nextgen scripts were loaded.

I’ve been looking into your previous custom URL structure (it sounds like your WordPress installation is both stored in its own subdirectory, and configured to serve pages from the website root), and have just added support for this setup in Optimizer Pro’s NextGEN Gallery Deactivator feature for you.

I’ve just sent you a fresh copy of Optimizer Pro (via email) with the addition so you can get it right away, and be able to revert back to your custom URL structure. This addition will also be included in the next update. If you deactivate/delete your current copy and install the updated version, you should be all set.

On second evaulation, I would definitely recommend this plugin to anyone who was about to uninstall nextgen gallery or its counterparts because it was slowing their site down. There is a difference of 2-3 seconds in my site speed when the optimiser is running.

I know I personally won’t use NextGEN Gallery without Optimizer running alongside it (especially with its new Pro Deactivator feature!), and it’s great to hear it has significantly helped with your page load speed also.

I actually came up with the idea for the NextGEN Gallery Deactivator feature whilst developing Optimizer’s new website. I found that even though I was developing locally, I’d have to keep manually deactivating NextGEN in order to get anything done. Waiting for its code to load on every page refresh is painful! Especially when you’re working on non-gallery pages!
