Dead link checker reports /trackback/ for any post is not found

  • I am trying to determine the dead links on my site by using a dead link checker service. The service is telling me that the /trackback/ after each of the entry names in the link bar are not found. Is this normal?

  • Yup, is normal. If you click a link ending with “trackback”, WordPress will assume you mean the actual post and take you there instead.

    As such, a link checker will never actually see a page with that URL on it.
