I love the look of this. Very clean and to the point. Very too the point.
The sidebar is delightful with the very clean and unusual use of hovers turning the background white. Very nice touch. Distinctive.
There are a few little errors in the code that need some attention, but that’s easy stuff.
It reads well, nice use of good sized fonts and clear blockquotes, though I would like to see the font size a little larger, maybe even larger than the text, something different about it than just “smaller” as it pushes down into the squint size. With only these couple of posts, it’s hard to know how often you are going to be quoting content, so make it stand out just a little more from the text. In fact, if I were in charge, I would replace the blue bar with a graphic of rainbowed open quote marks, emulating the Google logo look. Now that would give it a real kick.
Good job.
One little last nitpick. In the footer all you have is the XHTML and CSS validation links. Why bother? Your site isn’t about being validated, it’s about Google. I’d take those out and in the same font (I like it) but a tad bigger, add your navigation links to your categories like you did at the top. Simple, clean, useful.
