Debit or Credit Card Delay

    Good day,

    This plugin is working exactly as expected.

    My only gripe is when clicking the “Debit or Credit Card” button on checkout. The embedded credit card fields appear only after a slight delay of roughly 2 seconds (This is on desktop). The delay is such that I am worried it is a liability in terms of UX. The delay could result in the user double clicking the button or even leaving the page in extreme circumstances.

    Is there perhaps a way to make this button more responsive?

    Hi @aidba55,

    Thanks for the feedback.
    The smart buttons and also the hosted fields from the PayPal Card Processing are loaded asynchronously by the PayPal JSSDK and as you suggest, the loading times could be better.
    We do have some general performance optimizations planned for sometime in Q1 and are working on it with our partners at PayPal, but what happens within the checkout iframe from PayPal is not directly under our control.

    Hi Niklas,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I have looked into PayPal’s Card Processing in some depth, however, I don’t reside in one of the qualifying regions unfortunately.

    Will keep an eye on the performance and optimizations you have planned for Q1 though, looking forward to seeing their impact.
