I’m trying to debug an issue with child site featured images disappearing. When I turn on the debugger file, I get a 404. It didn’t collect any information. I tried at the network site and at the parent site. It’s worked for me before, am I missing something?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Does the debug file exist on disk?

If it doesn’t exist on disk, then something is preventing WordPress from running, even.

Does debugging to browser and broadcasting show anything?

The php file exists in the plugin folder. But should I be seeing an html file called ThreeWP_Broadcast.php.4d7906aa.debug.html?
Would perhaps installing the next update resolve it? I could just wait.

So I took a look at this link for you, and I am getting this: https://imgur.com/dDy3Uhc

It looks like Sucuri Firewall might think this is a backdoor. I would advise checking into that first, and then possibly whitelisting it for now, or maybe whitelist your IP in your server firewall.

    ah, thanks!
I bet that’s it. I just added it to the whitelist and it’s not working yet, but I’m tinkering with it. If the php file existing in the plugin folder is all I need to make this work, then it has to be a Sucuri setting.

Now that I know that you have a “security” plugin installed, could it be a permissions question?

Does debugging to the browser show any debug text when broadcasting?

(I’ve found that “security” plugins always cause more headaches than they solve.)

Ha, I’m beginning to think they’re more trouble too!

So I whitelisted that URL with sucuri and it took a little time (clearing cache too) and the page is working!

I did just turn on debugging to the browser and didn’t notice anything. I actually never used that so I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for, but I changed some broadcasting settings on a post and re-updated and never saw anything. So that may still be getting blocked. Though, it did save to the file.

In case someone finds this in the future – go check your firewall whitelisted URLs!
