• I run a small, not-for-profit site that hosts one event per year, so it does not make sense for me to pay for the full version. Last year we used Decaf for our event and it was great! This year, upgrading to version and it’s riddled with errors and kludges, including displaying erroneous information to my users (such as an invoice to a fake address in Arizona that I cannot remove).

  • Hey there,

I am sorry to see that you are having trouble. Could you give us the URL to your site so we can take a look?

When people elect to pay by check, if they click on “View full order confirmation receipt” the letterhead claims that my organization is located at 123 Onna Road, PO Box 123, Inna City,Arizona
United States 12345. I have had registrants ask me if they are supposed to send checks to this address. What in the world is this, why is it showing up, and how do I change it?

I also attempted to disable invoice payments, yet there is a button to switch to invoice from the receipt. I do not want this option, either!

I remember the interface in Espresso Decaf 3 being much more customizable, including being able to build in early bird discounts (which apparently I can no longer do unless I do it manually).

It’s placeholder text, and you can change the address by going to Event Espresso > General Settings and you fill out the fields under Contact Information.

You can disable the Invoice option by going to Event Espresso > Messages Settings > Html, then you click and drag the Invoice messenger over to Inactive Message Types box. Drop it there and it will be inactive.

This had already been changed. The Arizona address is still showing up on the receipt and invoice.

What irks me about this is the level of customization that’s required for Decaf out of the box. I get that there is limited functionality on this version, but it is wildly inconsistent with itself and is frustrating to use.

Your contact info will appear in the receipt after you reset the receipt template. You can also preview the receipts/messages before taking registrations to make sure everything is correct.

Resetting the template did nothing. It still prints the Arizona mailing address.

The template is keying off of these fields:
    [INVOICE_PAYEE_NAME]
    [INVOICE_PAYEE_ADDRESS]
    [INVOICE_PAYEE_EMAIL]

Where are these defined or modified?

They are defined in 2 locations.

Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> Invoice (if its not active temporarily activate it)

There you will find a ‘Invoice Display Settings’ section where those values can be set.

If they are not set there then EE will use your organization settings within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Your Organization.

Tony, thank you. That seemed to solve the problem.

I do have one more question. The literal strings [DTT_NAME] and [DTT_DESCRIPTION} are showing up in my default receipt template. When I went to change the template, I got an error that said that these fields are not defined. I cannot find where this information is coming from, either.
