• Hi there,

    Just a quick question.

When I export my database into csv, all my numeric fields turn into scientific numbers and when I change it to number/general, 2 decimal points are added on.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? The programme I am importing the data into afterward to print cards does not understand the decimals…

    Thanks in advance.

Does it help to tell the spreadsheet application that it is a text field, not a numeric field?

    Hi there,

No, it doesn’t. The data doesn’t make any sense then – it keeps the ‘+’ and .’.] signs from the scientific field. I have to change it to the number format and manually remove the decimals.

I was just hoping there was a way to stop the decimals from automatically being added as I don’t need decimals anywhere in my data.

    Thanks!

Couldn’t a floatval function be added in somewhere to fix this? If so, where would it be best put?

    Thanks in advance!

Well, I don’t understand where the decimals are coming from in the first place. The plugin doesn’t do that, it has no facility for working with numeric floats, it only uses strings or integers. I’m pretty sure this is all on your spreadsheet app.
