• Hi

I want to use this app on my website for different users to login and see their own unique content. However, it seems as though Instagram won’t allow this as my own Instagram App on https://www.instagram.com/developer/ is in Sandbox mode and therefore limits the amount of users to 10 and limits the usage of Instagram API.

I have tried to get acces to the full Instagram API access but I have gotten this message from them:

    “General issues:
Invalid Use Case: The use case described in your submission notes, screencast and website is not a valid use case. If you are installing a widget for your website, then you do not need to submit for review. Some widgets may ask you to create a new client ID, but you do not need to submit it for review for the widget to work. You can remain in sandbox mode and the widget will have access to your last 20 media. If you are the developer of a widget and you want to use one client ID for all your users, please resubmit for review and show proof of how your users will authenticate your widget. For more information, please see: https://www.instagram.com/developer/review/”

It seems as though this app Instagram Feed does not require permission to use it but how can get access to the full Instagram API then?

    Hey friendr,

You don’t need to actually use the Instagram Developer portal to set up your own Client/App. We have a Client which is tied to the plugin which you can use to access the Instagram API. All you need to do is use the big blue login button on our plugin’s Settings page to sign into your Instagram account. This will then give our plugin permission to read your content and display it through our Instagram Client.

Let me know whether that makes sense and whether it works for you. I hope you’re having a good day!

    Hi John

    Thanks for replying ??
I have used the blue button and put in my own access token for my Instagram account so it shows my feed on the Instagram Feed plugin. The problem is I want a way to change the access token for the different users that login so that it doesn’t show my Instagram posts for them, but that they have a view of their own timeline.
I can read on your Instagram Feed description that this plugin was also built for being accessed by different users and I’m simply asking for a way to explore this function.

Looking forward to your reply and hope you are having a great day yourself!

    Hey Sebastian,

The Access Token doesn’t need to be changed for each user, they can all use the same token. The Access Token doesn’t dictate which posts are shown, the User ID you enter does that, and so you can display posts from any Instagram account using your Access Token.

To display posts from different Instagram users simply use the shortcode options (which can be found on the “Display Your Feed” tab within the plugin). Here’s an example:

    [instagram-feed]
    [instagram-feed id=nike]
    [instagram-feed id=vimeo]

Let me know whether that makes sense and solves the problem for you.

    John
