Deeper Files in Directory / Child Themes

My theme uses a files that’s buried deep in the theme directory, for instance,
/theme/include/page-builder/composer/lib/shortcodes/file.php

I have a child theme set up, is it just as simple as creating that file in my child theme as
/theme-child/include/page-builder/composer/lib/shortcodes/file.php

This was the approach that I took, but the changes I made didn’t occur. I figure I might be doing something wrong.
