Default behaviour of File Block on a mobile phone

  • Hi,

    I am using the File block with the option to display a download button to display a PDF document. I have the show inline embed option turned off.
    On my laptop, clicking on the file name link displays the PDF and clicking the download button downloads the document to the file system.

    However on my iPhone 13, both options display the document, i.e it is not possible to download the PDF. Is this the default behaviour for the File Block?

    Hi @pete1889 – the way that the PDF file is handled is decided by the device (in this case your iPhone). It’s not possible for the site itself to dictate how the device/browser should handle the file.

    In terms of an iphone – you should be able to save the file to your system as a second step in the phone interface.
