Default calendar header does not match maximum date setting

I was able to get the date picker to work on a form. I’m asking for DOB. The problem is cosmetic but confusing. The maximum date is set as “today -18 years” because I want those who are filling out the form to be at least 18 years old.

The contents are correct. The last possible date that can be selected is 18 years from the current day. However the calendar heading shows today’s date. This is confusing.

Also. This max date setting can only be accessed through settings. If I were to want to use this plugin for another form, the setting is global. I couldn’t say set an event date selector because the global default is now set to a max date of 18 years from today. Is it possible to make this something that is passed in on the form rather than set in the settings?
