    Dear Jan,

when opening the booking overview the bookings are usually sorted by room, and then start date, from the future backwards. We use the overview, besides managing the reservation calendar, to see who come in next (and how many, and whether any additional requests are open). Would it be possible to set the deafult sort order by start date from present to future (and then maybe room name)?

    Hi Vu,

In fact you ask for two functions, to filter out the dates in the past and then to sort the bookings from the present to the future.
To make this the standard default will be confusing for the other users.
Therefor I investigate the possibility to add a new screen option when set the booking overview will respond as you requested.
I do not know yet when to implement it.

    Hey Jan,

Yes that’s indeed what we would like. I think it should be the default setting because in my opinion one of the main reasons of having this plugin is to get an overview of what bookings are coming up next. Is there another default view that might be more useful to users? One option to find out would be to start a poll with multiple view options among active users to find out what the most wanted default view is…

    Hi Vu,

It is not that much of an issue to set the screen-option.
To change the default to your preference you only set it once in the screen-options.
This setting is saved and is active each time you visit the page even after een logout.
It has the same behavior as the number of rows to display.

    Hey Jan,

well if you could add that in the screen-options I would be great. So far, each time when opening the booking overview the column were always sorted by their name and subsequently largest start date, reversing this to the next booking would be great. We operate the calendar within people less acquainted with computers, so any click that we can save is an enourmous delightment for them. Please keep me posted!

Will our booking data be kept in case we deactivate and activate the plugin?

    (@jan-maat)

At deactivate/activate no data is lost.

In response on your remark I tested the new arrivals on different sites without any problem.
Did you used the filter? If so the filter overrules the screen options.

We didnt use the filter, left the filter time range and filter status to all. I tested it again, and still no effect after selecting the new arrival checkbox and clicking on apply, on top of that also the number of bookings selected cannot set other than 10 anymore. Is there anything else we can try?

    Hi Vu,

Do you use the latest vein 1.5.2?
It looks that one of the files is not updated. So if you are not on 1.5.2 it is worthwhile to update.

Do you have access to the server error file? If so have a look if there is a error logged for the plugin.

    Regards,

    Jan
