Default Filter

I am trying to figure out how to set a default filter when the list is first rendered. Right now the entire list is shown and then the search filter reduces it to the proper results.
I would like the default render to not show any results until a search criteria is entered. Then only show the results from the search.

Have a look at the new shortcode attribute
on="wait"in v2.6.5.
The attribute was added to instruct StaffList not to present results (or show any pagers) until a search is performed. We hope this will accomplish what you intend for your WordPress site.Best,
