Default filter to ‘all events’ (not ‘future events’)

Is there a way to do this? I have had content managers repeatedly tell me there are no events in the admin, because past events are hidden by default.

I’ve tried editing the admin menu url, but this doesn’t appear to be permitted. I’ve tried using a redirect with the redirection tool, but this only works on the front end. Is there a way to change the default filter?
