Default H2 tag for Titles

H1 has a higher priority than H2. H2 in OceanWP is the default settings. But you can change it as per your need from the customizer panel.

Yes, I know H1 has a higher priority than H2 and I did change the default from H2 to H1. But why does OceanWP have the title tag set to H2?

Hello, you mean the post title, right? It is on H2 by default because H1 is already used for the page header title ??

How come I never get an email of a reply to my threads but I get emails on every other thread.

Appearance > Customize > General Options > Page Title – that is where the setting is called Heading Tag. I would assume for the title that you create. It was originally set to H2, not H1. Why would it be set to H2?

I just check it on my end and it is set to H1, therefore, the post title is set to h2 by default. What is the problem, I didn’t understand? You can easily change the heading tag as per your need.

What do you mean page title and post title? I changed the title heading from H2 to H1 but why was it set to H2 in the first place? I changed it – was that wrong to do? Why was it set to H2? Page title or post title – what do you mean? The title that you see – is there another one?

In OceanWP theme, the H1 tag is set for the page title (page header) – Setting Under the Customize > General Options > Page Title. Therefore the post title (Customize > Blog > Single Post) is set to h2. It is not fixed, you can change it as per your need. Hope it clears your query.

An isn’t the post title also the page title? It sure seems like it to me. When I click Add New under Posts the first field is TITLE. And when I publish the post, whatever I typed in that field is really large at the top of the page – kind of like a title, right?

Yes, it is possible. Go to Customize > Blog > Single Post and select background image from the page title dropdown. And select post title instead of the ‘Blog’.

Page Title (page header) – Customize > Geenral Option > Page Title
Post Title (Single post title) – Customize > Blog > Single post

I know where the settings are. What are you talking about in the first two lines? Yes, what is posible> And what do you mean by background image? My original question was why is the default for title H2? I changed it to H1 – was that a mistake? Am I missing something?

The H1 is the page title “Blog” and the H2 is the post title “Velusce suscipit quis luctus”.
Only one H1 need to be on a page, so by default, as it is the page title, the post title can only be H2. You understand?

No, I don’t understand at all. What language is that and what is the difference between a page title and a post title? I only see one title on the page, the one I wrote.

That link wasn’t there before just the other language. WTF! I do not care about pages. And why would you want the page title as H1 when the blog post title is the one with the keywords in it. That should be H1, not H2. I don’t write pages every week, I write posts every week. If I write a post I DO NOT HAVE TWO TITLES. The post title is the title on the page. Here is a picture of a blog post and another in the editor for that post. Do you understand what I mean by title? Oh never mind – no images are allowed, great.

Here is a title of a blog post: How Much Exercise Does A Dog Need Everyday? You can search for that in the page source and it has as H1 before it (think it’s 6 of 7 in the search). It has an H1 because I changed it from H2 to H1 although it looks like it’s in the damn header and its supposed to be in the body!

Do you understand how to write a blog post? There is a section at the top of the editor with a text box that says “enter title here”. Do you know what that “title” becomes? The large text at the top of the blog post when it is published AND the permalink AND the Seach Engine Title.

Now maybe I have it wrong about writing posts. Are you telling me that I have to repeat the title twice? Once in the text box I just mentioned and again in the main editor text section and I set that to what – H1 or H2? WHY ISN’T THE REALLY BIG TITLE H1? Why was it set to H2?

And by the way, why do you have a page title of “Blog” set to H1? Is “blog” a big keyword? And then you set your post title to H2??????????

The page title doesn’t mean it is a page, the page title is also on posts.
I understand what you mean and this is why you can change the post title to H1, also, the ??Blog?? page title can be changed for the post title, so you will have the keywords as H1.
