• Hi,

I’m wondering if there’s a way to avoid the image title field being required/auto populated when uploading images to galleries. I have a client with thousands of images from a legacy wordpress site that is now seeing these image0001 titles lifted from the jpg name displayed on images where they never wanted them. Of course they still want the titles they manually added, so i can’t just hide the titles…

My suggestion would be an option to have the attachment title generated by some method other than requiring/auto populating the title field from the jpg name. I would rather it was left blank by default.

    Any ideas?

As a work around – the caption field could be used as the required / auto populated field instead (i’m not using caption – just title and description)
    – or just not require/auto populate any field and identify the attachment some other way (eg. using the ID ????)

Why does an attachment ‘require’ another identifier as well as the ID?

    Thanks for any suggestions
