Default product image (from variation) keeps changing each week

    Hi

    I have setup facebook shop for client. I had already synced with your plugin. Each product has 4 Variation colours (colour swatch)… main product image on Woocommerce has actual Umbrella image …

    The Facebook catalogue picks up one of the 4 variations that is fine(but I don’t want the colour swatch image to show), so then I change that default image to actual Umbrella product), so the Shop page shows that image nicely rather than just the colour swatch from the variation.

    BUT the next week I go on the shop, the Product Shop for that image has CHANGED to another variation of the same product which just the colour swatch of the variation. Then the SHOP looks awful as it has changed ALL the products to colour swatches which then I have to CHANGE the default image of that again, and it has LOST the image that I uploaded in the Facebook shop the week before.

    SO I am assuming, it is AUTO Syncing from the Wocoommerce shop the variation images (which are just colour swatch) on the Woocommerce, and then syncing back to Facebook , and over writing the new product Image of Umbrella on the Facebook shop.
    Therefore this is a major pain.

    The products in Woocommerce say they are Sync and Show. But I don’t know HOW often it syncs, and it is a problem with my Variation products in Facebook shop.

    Maybe I am missing a setting … OR maybe I just STOP the SYNC and then the image that I set at as default for the Product Image of the Variation in the Shop, will stay as is.

    I don’t need it syncing daily or weekly from the original website, as pricing NOT changing regularly .

    BUT I don’t want the product variation image changing each week back to a colour swatch and NOT the image that I set the week before and I have to waste time (not chargeable to client) to fix the issue on the shop every week. This has happened twice now.

    This is becoming a problem and I don’t know how to fix it.

    You guys mentioned on another ticket.

    The default image for variants should be the WC default image for the variable product. Changing that should change the image associated with the variable.

    For the default picture/variable that shows, this can be set in the Variations area of a product.`”

    **** But it changes back to the Swatch image later in the week .. which I don’t want. If I set an product image for a particular product for Variation I would like it to stay and NOT choose another variation to show instead of the one chosen, and then the swatch has already changed ..

    If someone could please advise HOW to fix this issue rather urgently would be great.

    Can you provide a screenshot of your product images on the WooCommerce side, as well as the images on the Facebook catalog, for the same product?

    To check better, can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

    If you see in the Facebook Shop screenshot (the 4 Variations there for same product), I have actually had to manually upload the umbrella image for the 1st 2 variations) and left the other 2 Variation swatches as is.

    But next week , those 2 images will have disappeared back to swatches, and I have to do it all again. I assume because auto sync .. as the Variations Colour Swatches are actual colours in Wooocommerce.

    But the point being if you are able to manuaully update the image displayed in the Facebook shop, then it should stay that same image and NOT change the week after back to original ?

    Product image on woocommerce side is normal umbrella image but the Variations are just colour swatches. All these products are Variations (they have 4 Colour swatches) in Variation.

    Therefore in the Facebook Shop section where it links the Variation, I change the 1st image in the Variation and upload umbrella image instead of that swatch, and then is fine in the Facebook Shop, but then the next week, that image has gone back to original swatch colour rather than leaving the image I uploaded.

    Not sure whether it syncs back to Woocommerce and the REMOVES that image that I uploaded in Facebook Shop ?

    I cannot change the swatches on the Woocommerce because customers need to see the COLOURS available in larger image hence I used Variations for that. Originally we had different pricing for different colour canopies and that’s why we needed the Colours as Variations.

    I would prefer ONLY to have the Product with ONLY 1 swatch uploaded to Woocommerce shop is that possible ?

    What are your suggestions ?

    Would you mind checking if the same happens with a default installation of WordPress, WooCommerce core and Facebook for WooCommerce as the only enabled software?

    We do not provide support for third-party plugins like variation swatches that you may have installed on your site and causing the issue. In that case, it’s best to reach out to the developer of that plugin that can check and provide further assistance.

    As requested earlier, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    It happens even with NO Variation swatches plugin installed. It is not to do with that other plugin.

    It happens for ALL Variations in a Woocommerce product on the website (with no swatches plugin), when synced to the Facebook Shop, it syncs that variation item (whether it is a colour picture, or something else) it will sync that.

    Therefore I would have thought that it would be showing the MAIN IMAGE of the product and NOT the Variation image, that was my main issue.

    Is there a way for this to happen ?

    For now I have UNSYNCED the Facebook with Woocommerce website. That has fixed the issue temporarily.

    But I know when I tell it to sync again, the same issue with occur.

    I can’t leave it unsynced for too long.

    I understand that this happens to all variations of the products on your website when synched to the Facebook Shop.

    As requested above, in order for us to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot?

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.
