• I’d like that clicking on rss link would open in new window. I’ve had a search through the wordpress files, there is an include called default-widgets.php. Can I take a copy of it to work in my child theme, or don’t includes work this way? If they do, where do I make the target=”_blank” amendment. I’m using latest wordpress update.

    Thanks

I’ve managed it. The current line to edit is 1268 and put target=’_blank’ after href=’$link’.

But, I would rather update a Child Theme file than the main WordPress files, could I just put a copy of this file into my Child theme, instead of updating the main files.

Is there a caveat to the files you can include in child theme.

    Thanks
