• Your site still shows a wp-to-twitter plugin – is it doing that? And looks like it’s serving a cached page –

<!– Dynamic page generated in 1.154 seconds. –>
<!– Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2015-04-06 17:36:24 –>

<!– Compression = gzip –>

yes I am using wp-to-twitter to pust the posts to twitter.

the plugin I deleted was JM Twitter Cards…the default image from that plugin is showing when anyone posts a url from my blog to facebook & it doesn’t look good.

is there a directory I can check to remove this?
when I get the code for the link from facebook it shows:
<img class=”scaledImageFitWidth img” src=”https://fbexternal-a.akamaihd.net/safe_image.php?d=AQC5qg9Eq4IL1EdI&w=158&h=158&url=https%3A%2F%2Fg.twimg.com%2FTwitter_logo_blue.png&cfs=1&upscale=1″ alt=”” width=”158″ height=”158″>

the bold part of the link is where I believe the image is being drawn from

That’s from Facebook?

yeah I used the “inspect element” tool to get the link url…the first part is facebook’s and the bold part is what looks like the url to the “fallback” image JM Twitter Card uses for default.
I deleted the twitter card plugin but for some reason whenever someone posts my blog url or url from any post the fallback image shows instead of the post image

Have you used the debugger on Facebook?

yeah I tried it and it says:
“Based on included and inferred properties, the above preview is what users will see when they share this url. See this in the share dialog.”

this is crazy.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the robots.txt file that you have to “allow permissions” when you install the jm twittercard plugin…the robots.txt is supposedly on wordpress’ server somewhere so editing that is out (from what I read)

Have you cleared the SuperCache plugin?

multiple times as well as my browser cache…even installed a plugin for the browser cache…went digging through directories & files as well and can’t find anything

Try renaming your plugins folder on the server to plugins.HOLD for a few minutes – then change the name back and see if this still happens before activating any plugins.

Then reactivate one by one – see if it reoccurs.

ok I’ll try that.
would you know if there’s a plugin that cleans up asfter other plugins once they’re deleted?
all I can find is a plugin that cleans up unsued images.

still no luck here…
I deleted the cache plugin as well as the cache in my browser but whenever I post my blog’s url (home page url) it show’s either a blank image or the twitter card image.
if I post a blog post the featured image from that post shows but it’s the home page url that shows the twitter image.
very unprofessional-looking when sharing [the blog] on other websites to get back-links, etc.
any help is appreciated.
