Default value at radio buttons not the same as edit choice value

I am having trouble with radio buttons in my forms.

I want to have radio buttons with a default value, but apparently the default value is considered different from the edit choice values.
This is totally not convenient in the memberlist filters i am using.

Got a radio button with two answers, for example: yes and no. I want no to be the default value. So when i filter on the no answer in my memberlist it shows the no users even if the user haven’t touch that radio buttons.

How can that be done?
