Default wordpress comments added

  • Hi Marcel,
    Just small question, is it possible to show all comments and newly submitted in the Gwolle Guestbook page. The reason is I want to have a page with a nice overview of all comments. There isn’t a plugin available that can do this. For now only a recentcommentwidget of the latest x comments does a little. I see that there is an import function to bring over wp_comments of an article but it will be great if wp_comments will be shown as default in the Gwolle Guestbook!

    Hi,
    Just to avoid any confusion, Gwolle Guestbook is not built using WordPress Comments. It uses its own database table and functions. You can import comments manually as guestbook entries, but only manually.
    Reading your question, it might be that this plugin is not what you are looking for.

    There are a few other guestbook plugins that are build on WP Comments. You could look into that.

    You could also look into writing your own plugin using WordPress Comments and using a WP_Query for comments. Just the 50 most recent ones for example.
    Also, did you look into the recent comments widget? You might use that for inspiration.

    Thanks, Marcel for your reply! I saw that Gwolle guestbook has his own DB-tables. I will take a look into the recent comment widget ??
