• Hello,

I need help with google page speed test giving “defer offscreen images” error.

The autoptimize is enabled and in settings “1” is configured to lazyload all images, however, on mobile it does not work.

When I try lazyload from the theme itself, it works, but autoptimize lazy load doesn’t.

I tried searching the support for a solution as it seems there are many people with such issue, but could not find it!

    Kindly,
    Oliver

if the theme lazyload does better in this context you could simply disable lazyload in AO and let the theme handle that? ??

No, Autoptimize seems to be faster on GTmetrix and page speed insights even though it does not defer offscreen images!

I really want Autoptimize lazyload to work!

well, you could keep on using Autoptimize except for the lazyload part and have that done by the theme?

I think that autoptimize lazyload is faster overall than my theme lazyload, even though it shows that my theme lazyload defers images, Gtmetrix says to avoid enormous network payloads. Take a look at this report:
    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.tenderdolls.com/4yobeqVL/

Does it mean lazyload actually is not working?
This is a single product page with theme’s lazyload on.

Defer offscreen images test passed but what is the point, if it still takes 6 seconds to load to LCP.

Really appreciate your thoughts on this!

    Kindly,
    Oliver

the issue likely is that the theme lazyloads everything, including above the fold images. maybe ask them how specific images can be excluded from lazyload?

alternatively; do images on mobile lazyload OK with AO when on a stock (e.g. twnetytwentytwo) theme?
