    Hello,

I have WordPress 2.7 installed on my server and I can easily change the homepage to a static page (Log in > Settings > Reading) but the alternative homepage always results in two links on the horizontal navigation bar: one to “Home” and one to whichever page I have designated as the homepage, so both links go to the same page.

    Thank you for your help.

  • May have Home hardcoded as well as presented as part of the template tag, wp_list_pages() or wp_page_menu().

Check your header.php for the hardcoded link.

If necessary, provide a link to download the theme you are using or paste your header.php code in a pastebin and report the link back here.

Thanks Michael, I had a look in header.php and found it hardcoded, so I removed the link, so that’s one of the problems resolved.

I have also found the other pages created don’t seem to exist, or at least the links to them in the navbar are wrong. Shall I create a new thread for this or can you help?

WordPress 2.7 is installed in the root area of my hosting account.

    Thank you.

If the links are hardcoded, just edit your template.

I found why the other pages created didn’t exist. It was because the WordPress URL in – Settings > General – were not correctly defined.
