• I have a problem with defining users for my blog:

    According to: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Authors_and_Users_SubPanel#Add_New_User

    Add New User

In this section, you may add a new Users to your blog.
When new Users are created, their initial Roles is determined
by the New User Default Role setting in
    Administration > Options > General.

    Self Registration

If the Anyone can register option is set in the Membership section of
Administration > Options > General, users can register themselves at https://your wordpress url/wp-register.php.
Regardless of that option’s setting, you can manually create new users here.

    Username
Required. Enter the username of the new user here.
This will also be used as the Login name of the new user.

    First Name:
You may enter the first name of the new user here.

    Last Name
Likewise, you may enter the last name of the new user in this text box.

    E-mail

Required. Enter the e-mail address of the new user here.

    Website
You may enter the new user’s website URL in this text box.

    Password
Required. Enter a password for the new user twice here: once in each text box.

    Role
Select the desired Role for this User from the pulldown box.

    Add User

A very important button. Clicking this will save the new user’s information into WordPress’ database.
If you don’t click this button, the user will not be added.

But in my blog, when I go to “manage”, “users”
the only promt I am getting is “enter e_mail” and “role”

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

    z

  • What plugins do you have installed?

I know this makes not much sense, but have you considered upgrading to 2.2.1? If you do so, please download a fresh copy of WordPress from https://www.ads-software.com/download/

    Thanks Michael.
Actually I have 2.2.1 installed. At least I’ve thought so? Whatever version is used for a standard install on wordpress.com.
And if it 2.2 or lower, how do i go about upgrading it.
I know how to do it on the third party hosting.

By the way, how do I check the installed version?

    My blog is on wordpress.com
    https://zusfrid.wordpress.com/

And actually I do not see a plug in section on the menu at all.

By the way, how do I check the installed version?

You look at the footer of any of the admin pages.

    My blog is on wordpress.com

You are wasting your (and our) time here.
We do NOT support wp.com blogs. They have their own forum. Try your questions there.

Please i cant (or i dont know) add users. In page Users>Authors & Users I have 2 parts: User List by Role and Add User From Community. In “Add User Form Community” asked me> User E-Mail:
and Role:< that is. What to do? I wont more users. Site: srpski.rs.co.yu

    Thanks
    Mike
