Deindex category from Google

  • Add in robots.txt this
    Disallow: /domain/category/uncategorized/

    Look robots.txt at my site blog7.org for inspiration. Add in GSC in Removals request for temporary removals.

    Thanks @elpak, I removed temporarily in search console
    But what about this plugin!!
    It had option to avoid categories and tag from sitemap,
    Then why categories and tags get indexed?
    I unchecked those options….
    It means, the plugin has issue?

    We can also confirm that the selected categories are correctly excluded from your sitemap. The no0follow rule that was applied to categories seems to be working as shown here https://inchennais.com/category/dhotis-in-india/

    One thing to note is that removing some entries from the sitemap doesn’t mean they are automatically de-indexed from Google. They need to be manually removed from Google, and the admin needs to add no index no follow meta-rule in those pages.
