delay in images being deleted from Media Library
-
Hello,
In searching for help, I found a similar problem posted, but the messages became too technical for me to understand (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/media-library-images-not-updating/).
Plus, even though I am an admin for our site, I do not have access to the server (or FTP, or other things which the linked topic referred to).
Here’s my problem. If I delete an image from the Media Library, and then I upload a new image, using the same file name, and then I try inserting the new image into a blog post (such as an Inline Image, for example), it does not insert the new image. Instead, it inserts the image that has already been deleted from the Media Library. It seems….well, not logical, that the image which is no longer in the Library should still be somehow in the queue.
There must be some kind of delay, before the image actually becomes removed. If I wait 15 or 20 minutes, it inserts the new image as expected. But it’s kind of a pain to wait. I tend to write, then create the needed images as I go along. Then if I have to wait and wait before the new image takes effect, I lose my train of thought.
Mostly I guess the problem happens when I export a PNG for use in a blog post, and I add it to a post, then shortly realize I made a mistake when exporting it, so that I need to try the export again. But the original name I gave to the first try is the best name, so I want to keep the file name.
Is the only fix not to give the files the same name? Or just get used to waiting? Or could there be some kind of other trick or maybe workaround, to be able to keep the same file name?
I’m not sure what kind of info you need. We have version 6.5.5. And Superb Themes Premium plugin, although we have not installed any themes under it yet. We have a simple block editor, as far as I understand. If you need more info, just tell me what, and I can probably find it or figure it out.
Thank you very much for your patience with my newbie-ness ??
