• I have 16347 spam comments in the ‘moderation’. How do I delete them all manually. It is taking a long time for it to get past even 3000 comments. So I don’t get to see the ‘delete all spam’ button. It did get past 3000 comments and then the page stopped without getting to the end of page.

Yes, they were more than that but I manually deleted some of them and I got tired of doing that. I must have manually deleted almost 100 spam comments. And what about the rest of comments? How do I delete them all manually?

  • Hmmm. You could do a search for “delete spam mysql query”. I think there was a post or so a while back about that.

If it were me, I’d ask my host to handle it. But they love me, so it wouldn’t be a problem. Don’t know about your setup, host etc. but it couldn’t hurt to ask.

The problem is I host my own wordpress. Yes, I paid for it to be host but I have a reseller account with no customer, so I have to handle everything myself.
I did do a search and couldn’t find anything. I would like to know how to delete it manually.

So far I got to comment 4241 when I got this error:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/strawber/public_html/writer/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1197

That is what I meant when I said it barely go past 3000. At least, it went past 4000 this time. And the page didn’t end yet, so I won’t be able to see the delete spam button.

Um. I’m a reseller too…. but my host still does all my techie stuff….

I don’t know how to write the mysql query. I do know it was around here somewhere. Try using google instead.
