Delete AMP Problems

    Hi

    I want to delete the AMP plugin and have switched on in setting to delete all data but when I did it and then added the following code to my ht.access to redirect the amp pages it caused a 500 internal error and had to reset the website.

    This was what I added to ht.access

    // Redirect AMP to non-AMP
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (.+)/amp(.*)$
    RewriteRule ^ %1/ [R=301,L]

    It caused a problem with yoast, which you can see below so can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and the best alongwith safest way of deleting amp and redirecting it. Also I have web stories, if I redirect amp will it effect that plugin?

    Thanks for contacting us, you should check what was the previous .htaccess file, the errors are triggered by the Yoast plugin, and probably some configuration was removed when you changed the .htacess code.

    I suggest you get in contact with your hosting because we can’t cover changes made on the hosting side. But I’m seeing you are using Cloudways, they are pretty on solving those issues.

    If the problem continues I would get in contact with Yoast plugin support.
