I have a website that is not digital store. No download files. But I got tone of rows like this

    +————————————+————+
    | meta_key | meta_count |
    +————————————+————+
    | _download_expiry | 1503586 |
    | _download_limit | 1503586 |
    | _downloadable | 1497070 |
    +————————————+————+

Is it possible to delete them safely?

  • Hello @knguyen2011,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Yes, it is safe to delete these rows if you are not using downloadable products on your website.

However, please make sure to take a full backup of your database before making any changes.

This is a precautionary measure in case anything goes wrong, you can easily restore your website to its previous state.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Happy to help!

Thank you so much. Do you have the exact query to delete them?

    Hi @knguyen2011,

We strongly recommend that you keep these meta fields as explained here. The potential for performance improvement does not exceed the possibility of future difficulties.

However, if you still want to remove them, you can use a plugin called Bulk Delete. This will allow you to delete all the metadata associated with a specific post type, like products.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
