Hi, is there a way to delete old converted images (JPG/PNG)? I know I can do it from the backend FTP, but is this safe? It’s taking up way too much space.

    Hi @soulipsyz,

    Thank you for your message.

Converted WebP and AVIF files are saved in a separate directory: /wp-content/uploads-webpc. You can safely delete this directory – there is nothing else there except the files generated by the plugin.

Wouldn’t that delete all the converted images though? I’m referring to the non-converted images hence in my original message ”?(JPG/PNG)”

    Thanks

@soulipsyz Sorry, I misunderstood your question. My fault. We do not offer the ability to delete original files. This is not safe because if you remove the plugin you will lose everything. The original images are needed to enable conversion to other formats. It used to be that you could only convert them to WebP. Today you can also convert them to AVIF, but we don’t know what the future will bring.
