Delete pages from search

  • Hi, When my site is searched for in a search engine, my website link comes up with page titles that I have deleted. When I click on them it takes me to a 404 error page with a link for my old page. I can’t figure out how to get rid of these pages and have my current pages show up instead. Help? Thank you.

    If the page is already returning a 404, that’s the right way to do it.

    Google’s bot will eventually notice and remove the page from their index. There is no other way to do it.
