    Hi,

I have been using the plugin for a few days and I can’t find how I can delete rows that remain from deleted plugins I can see in my database (like for the elementor plugin; I can find several instances of the plugin in the postmeta table for instance).

I can remove rows in the option table with the options tab but for the other tables I can only repair/optimize/repair tables, am I correct?

Or do the leftover data from those plugins get removed in the general clean up after some time to be considered as orphaned data?

    Thank you,

    Hi,

The leftover data from old plugins can be found as orphan tables under the “Tables” tab, orphan options under the “Options” tab, or orphan cron jobs under the “Tasks” tab.

Under these three tabs, you can delete data you believe is orphan.

Concerning the “General cleanup” tab, it is related more to orphaned data concerning posts such as revisions, drafts, orphaned postmeta, etc.

    Alright, thank you.
And so the premium version gives us indications on which plugin created a table, options or cron jobs to ease our choices, right?.

But sometimes we may need to delete only selected rows in table, no?
Some tables are used by several plugins where each adds its own rows. How can we remove only these rows without removing the entire table? Or is it something we shouldn’t do?

    Thank you,

In general, each plugin uses its own tables. I don’t know any case where two (or more) completely different plugins use the same table. In case this exists, it should be a very specific case.

That is to say, when you should delete an orphaned table that belongs to a plugin x, you should delete the whole table not only some rows.

    Ok thank you.

I meant tables like postmetam the standards ones created by wordpress, where I thought there would be rows from different plugins.

Yes, WordPress tables may contain several rows from several plugins/themes. For example, a plugin may create a post with several post metadata. When the plugin and the post are deleted, post metadata may still they as orphaned data. At this point, you should delete these orphaned items.

All such cleanup processes can be done via the “General cleanup” tab of the plugin. In this tab, the plugin tries to find orphan items in the standard WordPress tables. Moreover, you can click on the “black ye” next to each item to see all orphaned items and choose exactly which ones you want to delete.

    Sorry to reopen the discussion.

I have a ton of occurrences of the plugin elementor for my posts in the postmeta table like you describe, even though I deleted it a while ago.
However, this data doesn’t show up in the general clean up tab as orphaned data.

    Is this normal?

    Thank you
