Are you asking about SPAM comments? IF so, are you using any anti-spam plugins like Akismet?

Oh thanks. It was there, but I had not activated it!

I am now noticing that there are POSTS on the home page. Is there a way to get rid of those? I’m not seeing any easy methods to do this on the forums.

Your home page can be set to post or to a static page – see:

If you just don’t want comments to show – go to the Posts screen and hover over that post’s title – click on QuickEdit and then turn off comments for that post.

I get this error message when I type in “999” on drop down box on COMMENTS page, where I choose “mark as spam”.

I’d guess that you can’t display that many comments – see if a plugin will help you delete all of those:

I ended up deleting them in groups of 200. thanks.
