Delete wordpress.com blog??? :(

This is an email I got from Smorty, a site I’d like to use to be able to get some $’s off of blogging. Problem is, it declined my blog for the reason below… kindly read…

Search engines index your blog by your domain name and page URL’s. e.g. https://www.myblog.com and https://www.myblog.com/my_post.html
All your posts are indexed on search engines and given a value according to it’s content, age, inbound links etc. If you change the domain of your blog then all that dissapears and your new domain starts from scratch again in the search engines. The new domain needs to build it’s own value and it’s own link structure. Therefore, you may not use the content of an existing blog.

I imported an xml of my blog at https://melancholiac.wordpress.com, and moved it to my newly purchased domain at https://atouchofmelancholy.com. I have done it successfully, but of course I have duplicate sites on the net now. Is there a way I can do this without having to delete my blog in wordpress?!?! Do I do redirection to the new domain? Please help as deleting this blog is my last resort and I dont want to do it ??
