  • How many update cycles did you allow here?

I have seen it take 2+ update cycles for a deleted item to be removed.

I have seen other oddities too which initially led me to believe that the update interval was two hours. manually kicking the update a couple of times might verify if that is what you are seeing.

I mitigated this by setting up a cron job to run at 5 minute intervals. See a recent post on changing the update interval.

It’s been days. The event never actually come off the calendar, no matter how long we wait.

    Hi,

Can you please provide a link to the event that was not deleted.

That WOULD be helpful, wouldn’t it! ??

The event was created through ICS import from the feed mentioned above. Thanks so much for checking into this.

It is possible that automatically import is not working, please install “Advanced Cron Manager” plugin and check what processes are scheduled(Dashboard > Tools > Cron Manager). The task that updates the feeds in Ai1ec is called ai1ec_cron. Check what time Advanced Cron Manager says it will run it.

We’ve confirmed that ai1ec_cron is set to run. We’ve also executed the task manually to test if it would make a difference. The event is still in place.

As a side note, we have multiple Google users adding events to the calendar. Would that cause any issues with syncing up changes?

    Any other ideas?

What “Next execution” says, if “At next page refresh”, then cron does not work.

We’re getting “At next page refresh.” So I executed the wp_cron via URL and WP CLI, and it didn’t update. IS it possible that the plugin didn’t register the cron task correctly?

If you use cPanel, you can set up a scheduled task that spawns the wp-cron task. The following guide should help: https://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-replace-wordpress-cron-with-a-real-cron-job

I think you missed that I actually ran cron using both the URL and WP CLI and neither triggered the job. WP CLI reported that the job ran successfully. Just to be thorough, I ran wp cron event list and ai1ec_cron doesn’t show up in the list at all. Would the fact that it’s multisite cause that?
