Deleted it today

On a basiv WP setup without too many plugins this one surely works great. As I had to check for plugin conflicts I ran Advanced File Manager with all other plugins deactivated; worked great in that environment: fast side buildup, quick in its file handling functions, lots of options in it.
Nice tool for beginners, small private pages, etc.

Missing: granulated rights per user or per role as offered by one competitor (of whom the downside was massive page load slow down even in backend).

When you start SEO and page load time optimization you might get in trouble with Advanced File Manager. I use Asset CleanUp Pro: Page Speed Booster to rid superfluous CSS and JS off pages that won’t need em, but even with all CSS and JS allowed and defer / async deactivated Advanced File Manager stopped working in a way that gave me an empty file window. As Asset Clean Up Pro pushes me about 6% up on YSlow I definitely won’t miss this one. Other File Managers work well with it.

Moreover my screen got spammed with UTF-8 recognition issue messages on backend and on front end.

Conclusion: this plugin has potential but is still in kids’ shoes and currently runs behind its competitors.
