Deleted MySQL database :(

    Hi Folks,

    I’ve just gone and accidentally deleted our MySQL database from the hosting provider. Am I right in thinking I’ve just lost the last 4+ hours of work I’ve done in WordPress ?

    I’m presuming all content is linked to the database and it’s not just a case of creating a new database and changing the link in wp-config.php ?

    Do you have a recent backup? Perhaps the host does automatic backups however I doubt it was in the last four hours. With no backup you are dead in the water. Need to create a new database and reinstall WP.

    Yup, it’s gone… All content is stored in the database. The only chance you might have is to contact the hosting provider and hope that they do auto backups. But even those might only be on a nightly basis, not hourly. Good luck!
