Deleted Page still Appears on Menu
-
Hey all
I am by no means a tech person but do find WP quite easy to use.
In saying that, I am at a loss as to what I did wrong here.I have started a new blog, and have played around with the Menu and Pages tabs – so much so that I now have:
– an ‘About’ page that is displayed on my website Menu that does not exist ANYWHERE in my admin panel (not in ‘pages’, not in ‘posts’ or in the ‘menu’ tab) so I cannot delete it. When the ‘About’ page is clicked on from the website, it leads to an empty page with an ‘edit’ link in the body of the text (nothing else) and when this ‘edit’ link is clicked on, the reader is taken to an error page which says: You attempted to edit an item that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?
Finally, this ‘About’ page does not come up in the menu upon accessing the website like the rest of the menu – it is only visible once the reader clicks on some of the categories shown in the menu bar (I say some as not all the categories do this, some stay where they are)
– a ‘private’ page in my ‘pages’ tab that displays nothing when clicked on from the list view although it has a (1) next to it. I believe this has something to do with the mystery ‘About’ page.
– a menu that is acting erratically due to the above and I cannot find a way to fix it (i have tried deleting the menu and re-adding it but nothing happens). As mentioned above, certain pages are not always displayed depends on the category chosen (I have not created subpages, pages with parent pages or anything of the like) and clicking on the ‘home’ button more than once takes the reader to an error message which says: This site can’t be reached – https://www.simplyellevated.com’s server DNS address could not be found – Search Google for simply elevated -ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. What could this be about?I’ve been trying to fix it on my own (with the help of websites and tutorials) all afternoon but to no avail – help would be much appreciated as it is super annoying and overall terrible user experience.
Thanks Ella
