Do you mean the menu link still persists? If so then you need to edit your custom menu to remove it.

Well I have taken screen shots to show no custom menu and where the sitemap appears on the site page

That doesn’t look like the sitemap, more of a bread crumb trail showing where you are on your site.

To clarify, the sitemap will only show anywhere you enter the [simple-sitemap] shortcode on a post or page. Once this is removed the sitemap will not display.
