Deleted posts stars still show in widget

    Hi,

    I have deleted some posts which were rated and were showing in the widget. Despite waiting some time the deleted posts stars ratings still show in the widget on the home page at redooce.com, but the title has been removed from the widget.

    Is there a way to get the widget toautomatically remove the entire entry, including stars, for that post if the post is deleted completely from the site?

    From security reasons, there’s no way to delete ratings if you aren’t using our Pro version (pro users have secret-key for encryption). If there’s only several ratings you need to delete, please send me their ids to [vova AT rating-widget DOT com]. Or if you are o.k to reset all the ratings, go to advanced settings and use the button to create new user-key for fresh start.

    Hi,

    thanks for getting back to me, but Im a little confused how we can still have a rating for a post that doesnt exist?

    We are running an auctio nwebsite rather than a blog, so posts will constantly be created and deleted so only want the widget to show ratings for open posts.

    If we have to reset all the ratings everytime a post is deleted there is no point getting our users to rate anything?

    Maybe im confused but why would anyone want to retain a rating for a non-existent post?

    Hm… auction is a use-case we’ve never considered before for the Top-Rated Widget.

    The ratings data is stored remotely on our servers, so when you delete a post on your side, the corresponding rating is still exists on our servers.

    As mentioned in my previous response, if you’ll upgrade your account then you’ll get a secret key. Once you have a secret key we can help you out by adding a sync function to remove deleted posts.
