Deleted the page and can't make a new one

Hi,

I’m making a blog for someone else and by mistake made it under my old account. I deleted the blog then, and I’m trying to register anew now, with this person’s email address but it won’t let me. It says the blog address is already taken. Will this expire after 24 hrs, given the fact it IS deleted? Is there anything I can do besides registering a .com address and paying for it? :/
