• I’m pretty new to WordPress. I’ve been told that I should change the “admin” username to something else. So I created a new user, with admin priviledges, and then logged in as that user and deleted the default “admin” user account. When I clicked delete admin another screen came up that asked if I wanted to delete the posts or have the new user inherit them. I accidentally hit OK on the default delete posts option instead of selecting the inherit radio button! Now all of the posts are gone and the website is empty and looks like crap (certain styling elements disappeared also). We do not have a backup plugin running on the website right now. Is there ANY way to 1) get the posts back and 2) associate them with the new user account???

  • Contact your Hosting Service and see if they maintain a backup taken prior to the deletion that can be restored.
