@saglix We are really sorry to hear that the plugin is not working for you.

Regarding the deleted images, you can always restore the original file as WP Paint doesn’t delete the original file and saves the file as a copy. Please click on Edit With WP Paint and click on Restore Original to get your original image back.

Also, can you check your server settings if the following have been set correctly:

1.post_max_size > Should be at-least 2x size of the image being edited
    2. upload_max_filesize > Should be at-least 2x size of the image being edited
    3. allow_url_include = Should be On
    4. request_order Should be set to ‘GP’

We have a very small fraction of users who are facing this issue which we are working on replicating and fixing. It would be helpful if you could provide the list of plugins that you are using in your environment so that we could try and replicate your environment and test it.

@saglix Our latest release 0.4.3 has protection against accidental image destruction. Please do check it out.

    Hi @saglix,

I wanted to check-in if you were able to try the latest version of our plugin to see if your issue is resolved.

After checking plugins the editor does not load the image. Seems to be stuck in a loop

@art137 Can you please check if there are any error messages in your PHP error logs?

This is what I found and there are hundreds of them

[30-Apr-2020 19:45:01 America/Chicago] PHP Warning: Version warning: Imagick was compiled against Image Magick version 1650 but version 1654 is loaded. Imagick will run but may behave surprisingly in Unknown on line 0

Hmmm no reply Any resolution for this problem?

@art137 One of the probable reasons WP Paint might not be able to save images could be to do with misconfigured site_url. This happens when using HTTPs redirect plugins.

Can you check if the site_url configuration is the same as the actual site URL? This has been discussed in-depth at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/saving-does-not-work/page/3/ as well.

I am not using an Http plugin But I am using the Elementor page builder. I also have another (new)site with the same issue. I have done all the troubleshooting and even deactivated all the plugins and still get the same result

@art137 Elementor / Elementor Pro is supported in WP Paint Pro.

In-case you are facing issues with WP Paint Pro please contact at zetamatic.com/support and the support team would certainly help you out.

Ok, so you posted a link to another comment that takes me nowhere. Is there another link I am supposed to click on? So you mean I can’t use WP-Paint with Elementor unless I pay for the Pro version? Is that it?
Well then in that case why is it working fine on another one of my sites with the same plugins?

    (@devadattas)

WP Paint Pro allows editing images through the Elementor / Elementor Pro Builder.

WP Paint will still work using the WordPress media manager irrespective of whether you are using Elementor/Elementor Pro or any other page builder. I guess you are referring to this.

Also, as you mentioned WP Paint is working for you through another site, are both the sites hosted on the same hosting environment?

Yes, All my sites are in the same hosting environment. Memory is at 1024, post size and upload limits are more than enough. I even tried to edit the images through Elementor/Pro (I have both) and it does the same thing whether in the media library and/or Elementor. Deactivated all the plugins and by itself it still would not load the image

Did you check the site URL and the http -> https redirect settings as per https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/deletes-the-image-upon-saving-didnt-work/#post-13206165 for the specific site? If it is working on one site on the same environment it must be something to do with the site_url settings on WordPress. Can you provide the following info: website URL and the value of site_url as per /wp-admin/options.php

I have posted my answer and now I don.t see it And the link you provided just brings me back here
