• I ran a search on here but couldn’t find a solution for this problem.
Essentially I need to find and delete the below page:

    https://drmattmumber.com/blog

Looking through my “Pages” in WordPress, it doesn’t exist.

I’m using the below URL as my blog page. As you can see, it had to be named “blogg”. I can only rename it “Blog” once I’ve located and deleted the above URL.

    https://drmattmumber.com/blogg

Any help would be much appreciated!

  • As I see it – the page is already deleted. It even gives you a 404 error (in the http header). The page is as gone and down as you can take it – the fact that you can still access the page is no more strange than you can access any other non-existing page like https://drmattmumber.com/i-collect-banana-peel ??

Oh and – dont confuse indexed search-engine databases and phantom pages. The fact that you still can see your page on here is just proof of the time continuum is still in one piece. It will either vanish over time – or people will get 404 errors when they visit your page.

However, do you wish to save your pagerank and visits the trouble, you can get a “301 redirect” plugin for wordpress, and redirect the old blog page to the new one.

    Thanks for your response.
The problem I have is I want to rename:

    https://drmattmumber.com/blogg

    to

    https://drmattmumber.com/blog

But I can’t apparently, because of that “phantom” page. I was told to look in the database for it and delete it before renaming the above, but I have no idea where to find it?

aha now i get it – sorry i got confused due to the mentioning of the search-index.

regarding your phantom page – i have never had this problem myself, so im sorry to say i dont know where you should look. Have you ever made a regular page and called it /blog? maybe this page is still in trash?

Thanks but I checked the trash and emptied it and the page is still “there”.

I’m really confused about where this page is and why I can’t get rid of it!

    Can anyone else help?
I still have the phantom page ??

Do you have any idea how to use PHPmyadmin (or any other mysql tool)? You might be able to go into the database itself and locate it there – search for anything with slug “blog”.

maybe the error are in the rewrite rules wordpress itself makes, so try looking into these (also in mysql).

Sorry, thats all I can come up with.

Not sure if this will help with a page, but it seems to be related: Delete WordPress Category – Numbered Slug Fix using PHPmyAdmin
