    hi there everyone

I’m having a problem with deleting old files that are now against AUP of my hosting service.

I’ve gone into the wordpress account updraft backups and deleted all the old files that show on the wordpress account and only have the last back up which is now saved to a different location, but my webhost keeps saying the files are still on the server.

Honestly I have no idea what they are talking about and its stressing me out. Can any one tell me in very simple terms what they are wanting me to do as I’ve asked them multiple times and they just keep saying you have to delete the files from the server.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated. I believe I only have the free version of updraft.

    Hi,

If you have set the backup retention rule and it is still filling up your server it is possible that the backups are failing as UpdraftPlus would only prune the backup after it has completed the process.

Another possible reason could be the “automatic backups before” update. These backups are not included in the backup retention and has to be manually deleted.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
